Accel Entertainment was among the first companies to be licensed as a Terminal Operator by the Illinois Gaming Board, receiving its license on March 15, 2012.

The Illinois' Video Gaming Act, enacted on July 13, 2009, was designed to support the state’s $31 billion infrastructure improvement initiative under Public Act 96-0034. It allowed select establishments—such as liquor-licensed venues, veteran and fraternal organizations, and truck stops—to operate up to five video gaming terminals (VGTs).
Live video gaming officially launched in Illinois on October 9, 2012, and Accel has been a leader in the industry ever since—committed to delivering modern gaming content, exceptional service, and reliable support to partners across the state.
